Vision Award

The National Water Quality Monitoring Council’s Vision Award recognizes a monitoring council or group that has demonstrated extraordinary vision and cooperation in the field of water quality monitoring on a local or regional level to enhance the management and protection of aquatic resources.

The award is presented at the biannual National Monitoring Conference. The first award was presented in 2012 and each conference since then to the following individuals:

  • 2023: URI Watershed Watch
  • 2021: Blue Water Task Force, Surfrider Foundation
  • 2019: Southern California Coastal Water Research Project
  • 2016: Georgia Adopt-A-Stream
  • 2014: Florida LAKEWATCH, Mark Hoyer, Director
  • 2012: Central Plains Center for Bioassessment
